Privacy Policy

FunBase Inc. (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) establishes the following privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as the “Policy”) regarding the processing of customers’ personal information (including contact persons of business partners) in relation to the Company’s services (meaning the Company’s businesses including villa management, housekeeping, meal delivery, catering, cleaning, resort hotel management, real estate sales, brokerage, leasing, and related services, hereinafter referred to as the “Services”).
Unless otherwise defined herein, the terms used in the Policy shall have the meanings as defined under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (hereinafter referred to as the “Personal Information Protection Act”).

1. Personal Information Collected

The Company collects the following personal information regarding customers:

  • Name, address, postal code, gender, date of birth, phone number, email address
  • Account ID, password
  • Information on official identification such as driver’s license, resident certificate
  • Information on transaction details and purchase history of the Services
  • Bank account information, payment information, and related details
  • Cookies and other online identifiers, device information, location data, browsing history, and service usage records (including access logs, IP addresses, browser information, and browser language settings, etc.)
  • Information relating to inquiries and communications with the Company
  • Other information provided by customers to the Company by methods specified by the Company

2. Purpose of Use

The Company will collect and use customers’ personal information within the scope of the following purposes of use (hereinafter referred to as the “Purposes of Use”):
If the Company needs to use personal information beyond the scope of the Purposes of Use, the Company will notify customers in advance and obtain their consent for the use of personal information for such new purposes.

  • Registration for the Services (including execution of contracts), authentication at the time of use of the Services, and customer management
  • Sale of products, provision of the Services, and billing of fees
  • Prevention and response to fraudulent activities
  • Maintenance and management of the Services (including websites and applications used to provide the Services)
  • Research and analysis of marketing data and consideration and implementation of marketing measures
  • Provision, solicitation, advertising, and other marketing of the Company’s or third parties’ products and services based on analysis of customer’s attributes and behavioral history on the Company’s or third parties’ media
  • Distribution of newsletters, campaigns, sweepstakes, and surveys
  • Implementation of auctions
  • Improvement of products and services and research and development of new products and services
  • Responding to inquiries and contacting customers
  • Provision to third parties as described in the Policy

3. Provision to Third Parties

The Company may provide information that does not identify specific individuals by itself to advertising distribution partners for the purposes of delivering advertisements tailored to customers’ interests and confirming their effectiveness, as well as for providing the Services.

4. Security Measures

5. Requests for Disclosure, etc.

The Company will respond to the following requests (notification of purposes of use, disclosure of personal information or records of provision to third parties, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, or suspension of provision to third parties):

(1) Notification of Purposes of Use or Disclosure of Personal Information or Records of Provision to Third Parties

Customers may request notification of purposes of use or disclosure of their personal information or records of provision to third parties within the scope permitted under the Personal Information Protection Act. However, the Company may refuse disclosure in the following cases:

  • When disclosure may harm the life, body, property, or other rights and interests of the customer or a third party
  • When disclosure may significantly hinder the proper execution of the Company’s business
  • When disclosure would violate laws or regulations
  • When it cannot be confirmed that the request is made by the customer

A fee set forth in Section (4) below will be charged for requests for notification of purposes of use or disclosure of personal information or records of provision to third parties.

(2) Correction, Addition, or Deletion

Customers may request correction, addition, or deletion of their personal information. In such cases, the Company will promptly investigate within the scope necessary for achieving the purposes of use and, based on the results, make corrections, additions, or deletions in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.

(3) Suspension of Use or Provision to Third Parties

Customers may request suspension of use or suspension of provision to third parties of their personal information. In such cases, the Company will appropriately respond in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.

(4) Procedures

Customers wishing to make requests for disclosure, etc. should contact the inquiry form listed under “Contact Information.”

A fee of 1,000 yen will be charged for each request for notification of purposes of use or disclosure of personal information or records of provision to third parties.
Even in cases of non-disclosure of personal information or non-notification of purposes of use, the prescribed fee will still apply.
If the Company needs to use personal information beyond the Purposes of Use, the Company will notify customers in advance and obtain their consent.

8. Changes to the Policy

The Company may revise the Policy as necessary.
However, if legal requirements mandate customer consent, the revised Policy will only apply to customers who have consented by the Company’s prescribed method.
In the event of changes, the Company will announce the effective date and contents of the revised Policy on the Company’s website or by other appropriate means.
